I
was wondering how I
could get the nice rumble of a
Vance &
Hines or Cobra
exhausts without dropping $600 on
my bike.
Well I
found the secret
online. Drill out
the baffle
from the back of the exhaust and voilà.
All it cost me
was a 1 1/4
inch hole bit
with a 12
inch extension for
my drill and
it was done.
The rumble is deep at low revs but
loud and
throaty at high revs. I
know the decibel level is still within limits but
around cops I
still keep it low.
I like the sound of my new bike and so far no apparent loss of power or fuel consumption. A few putt putts when I coast to a stop but that was happening before it just was quieter.
Salut.
